The hotel is set in 50 beautiful acres overlooking its private beach.  Lawns lead on to open meadow and parkland with a strip of wonderful woodland growing down the coastal slope.
The extensive grounds are a magical haven for wildlife and fauna, including rare birds of prey, owls, red squirrels, dragonflies and butterflies.
The lawns and terraced gardens were designed by the famous doyenne of landscape design, Gertrude Jekyll.  Queen Victoria is reputed to have sat beneath the magnificent magnolias at "Mr Grose's little cottage"!
The amazing diversity of this small estate makes it ideal for families: children can wander safely and freely within the grounds while couples, wishing to escape the hectic metropolis, can enjoy romantic coastal and woodland walks.
